About WinSnipper
WinSnipper is a Windows screenshot utility built around a quick capture, annotate, and share workflow. After the user starts a capture with a keyboard shortcut and selects a region, the snip is saved and copied to the clipboard. A small floating thumbnail remains available on screen, providing a direct way to open the capture for editing or move it into another application. The editor includes drawing and markup tools such as rectangles, freehand lines, ellipses, arrows, text, and numbered step markers. It can also redact or pixelate selected content and crop the image. The thumbnail can be dragged into another app as a file, which supports sharing a screenshot without searching for it in a folder. Closing the editor saves the changes and refreshes the clipboard, so the edited image remains ready to paste. The application is designed to reduce interruptions during repeated screenshot work. Captures are saved and copied as part of the selection flow, and the editor closes without a separate confirmation step. The combination of region capture, quick annotation, redaction, and direct transfer is useful for feedback workflows where a screenshot needs labels or visual emphasis before it is sent to another person or placed into a document.
