About WM_NIGHT
WM_NIGHT applies a dark appearance to classic Windows desktop applications and interface areas that may remain light under the system’s dark theme. It runs in the tray and can theme Explorer, Registry Editor, Control Panel, and other Win32 programs added to a whitelist. The evidence distinguishes the quality of support across these areas, describing Explorer and Registry Editor as strong cases and Control Panel support as more limited. A signed build launched from a trusted location can theme elevated windows without itself running as administrator. This lets users customize older interface components while keeping the utility available in the background.
