About WoWMIPS
WoWMIPS is an emulator for running Windows NT software designed for MIPS on an x86 computer. Emulation reproduces the behavior of a different processor architecture in software, allowing programs built for that architecture to be explored on a machine with another processor. WoWMIPS is intended for users interested in compatibility, preservation, or experimentation with Windows NT’s MIPS environment. Its role is to bridge older software and hardware architectures by providing a software-based MIPS environment on x86. The emulator focuses on this specific Windows NT and MIPS combination rather than acting as a general-purpose virtual machine for unrelated systems. This lets users explore software intended for the MIPS workstation architecture.
