التعرف الضوئي على الحروف (OCR) extracts text from images using an OCR engine. Users can open an image from the device or share it directly from the gallery, then select and copy recognized text. The app can process more than one language in the same image when that option is enabled in settings, and supports over 120 recognition languages. Training data must be downloaded before recognition can run. After that setup, image processing happens offline on the device, and the product description says user data is not sent elsewhere. Several training-data sets are available, offering different tradeoffs for recognition behavior. Mathematical expression recognition is also listed as an experimental feature and has not been tested. The app is useful for extracting text from photographs or screenshots and reusing it in another app. It requires internet access to download language data, but not to process images once the required data is installed.
