About 0x54ask
0x54ask is an offline manager for tasks stored in the plain-text todo.txt format. Tasks can be organized with contexts such as work or home and project tags, and calendar entries can use the same tagging conventions. Because the data is plain text, it can also be opened and edited with other text editors. The app monitors its selected folder for changes made by other programs and updates its view when it detects a modification. Changes are written promptly, and the app can automatically merge many simultaneous edits when they affect different lines. It also includes special handling for synchronization conflict files. The user chooses the task folder through Android’s file-access framework, and the app is restricted to that selected directory. 0x54ask has no internet permission. Users can work entirely offline or synchronize the plain-text files with a separate tool of their choice. This keeps synchronization independent from the task app while allowing use across devices. Its focus is a local todo.txt workflow with conflict awareness and editable files.
