About Activity Trace
Activity Trace creates a searchable, on-device history of notifications, captured screen content, and indexed files. Users can search with ordinary phrases or time expressions such as “yesterday” and “last week,” and narrow results by app or content type. Search results are ranked and highlighted, while statistics show how captured activity changes over time. Users control how long information is retained and can block individual apps from being included. Stored data is encrypted on the device, and the app is described as having no internet permission, cloud service, account, or telemetry. A separate demo mode uses fictional data without mixing it with real activity. Activity Trace is designed to help recover something seen earlier on the phone by bringing several kinds of local activity into one searchable timeline. Its capture and search functions make it a broad personal history tool, with retention controls intended to limit what is kept.
