About Alt Launcher

Alt Launcher starts selected apps and services automatically when a compatible Android radio boots or fast-boots. It is designed for radio units whose default home interface does not provide app-start automation. Users can configure background apps and services to start in a chosen order, then select one app for the top and another for the bottom of split-screen mode. Before launching the two visible apps, Alt Launcher can start services or other apps that need to run in the background. Its main screen shows the configured background items, services, and split-screen choices so they can be changed later. A foreground-service notification provides a route back into the configuration screen when the device’s default launcher hides the app icon. The app needs Android’s boot-completed event and a foreground service to start after boot and remain accessible. It must be opened once after installation to begin operating. Alt Launcher is intended for specialized Android radio devices, not as a general-purpose phone launcher. It can also be configured to start a background automation service after boot.
