About AlwaysOn | Always On Display
AlwaysOn adds an always-on display for Android devices with OLED or AMOLED screens. It can show the time, date, battery state, notifications, and currently playing media on a configurable watch face. Several watch-face styles are available, and users can adjust the background and display behavior to suit their device and preferences. Additional controls include edge glow, rules for when the display appears, double-tap-to-wake, pocket mode, Do Not Disturb mode, adjustable brightness, quick settings tiles, and widgets. A power-saving mode is available on rooted devices. To reduce the chance of screen burn-in, the app periodically shifts displayed content. AlwaysOn is designed to provide at-a-glance information without repeatedly waking the full screen. Its settings let users choose what appears and how the display behaves, balancing visibility with battery use. The app is described as open source, free, and ad-free, with minimal permissions.
