About AndrOBD

AndrOBD connects an Android phone or tablet to a car’s on-board diagnostics system through an ELM327-compatible adapter. Connections can use Bluetooth, USB, or Wi-Fi. The app can read and clear fault codes, display and record live data, retrieve freeze-frame information, and show vehicle information. Recorded data can be saved, loaded for analysis, graphed, and exported as CSV. The interface includes day and night themes, a dashboard, and a heads-up display. Users can customize parameter identifiers and data conversions. Plugin extensions add phone GPS data, accelerometer readings, or publishing selected vehicle data to an MQTT server. The GPS and sensor information can be stored and analyzed alongside OBD measurements. AndrOBD is intended for monitoring and analyzing diagnostic information from a compatible vehicle and adapter. Clearing fault codes changes the vehicle’s diagnostic record but does not repair the underlying cause. The app’s usefulness depends on the vehicle, adapter, connection type, and supported data identifiers. The evidence does not guarantee that every car exposes the same readings or fault information.
