About Aster Mail: Encrypted Email
Aster Mail is an email app for Aster accounts, combining encrypted mail with aliases and ordinary inbox tools. Messages between Aster users are encrypted on the device before they leave it, using a post-quantum ratchet protocol; the server stores encrypted content. For other email accounts, the app provides folders, labels, categories, search, templates, signatures, scheduled sending, forwarding, sender filters, blocked senders, and an allow list. Mail can be stored in encrypted form for offline access. Users can create aliases for different sign-ups, see which alias received a message, and import or export aliases. Custom domains are supported, with DKIM signing handled by the service. The app includes biometric locking, two-factor authentication, a recovery key, session management, and lock-screen notification privacy. Quiet hours and per-folder muting control notifications. This Android build does not include Firebase or Google Play Services. Push notifications require a UnifiedPush-compatible distributor; background polling is used when one is not installed. The app has no ads, tracking, telemetry, or analytics according to its description. Paid plans add storage, larger attachments, more aliases, and custom domains. Aster Mail combines conventional mail organization with end-to-end encryption between Aster users and alias management. The encryption feature is specific to communication between Aster users; the supplied information does not state that messages to other providers use the same encryption.
