About astro-sight
astro-sight is a command-line tool that generates abstract syntax tree information for AI coding agents. An abstract syntax tree, or AST, represents the structure of source code in a form software can inspect. astro-sight parses 16 programming languages and can return AST fragments, symbol definitions, cross-file references, call graphs, imports, change-impact information, dead-code findings, and co-change patterns. Results can be emitted as compact JSON or TOON, and the tool can also run as an MCP server. These outputs help coding agents or other tools inspect code structure and relationships, rather than treating source files as unstructured text. astro-sight brings language-aware code analysis into a terminal and tool-integration workflow.
