About Atmo Engine
Atmo Engine is an Android live-wallpaper studio that applies animated visual treatments to images. Users choose a picture, preview and fine-tune an effect, then apply it through the system wallpaper picker. Effects include Atmosphere, Glass, Color Fill, Canvas Sketch, Frosted, and Halftone, with reverse variants for several styles. Preview rendering uses the same image, settings, and graphics API as the active wallpaper. Wallpapers can use one image, an automatically rotating playlist, or separate light and dark playlists that follow the device’s appearance. Each image retains its own crop, zoom, fit, and scrolling position. Fine-tuning controls cover animation timing, dimming, blur, grain, contrast, saturation, texture details, and other effect-specific settings. Transitions can be disabled to keep an effect applied to the home screen, lock screen, or both; the app continues to operate as a live wallpaper rather than creating a static image. Subject isolation is available on-device for selected effects, including the option to keep a prominent subject clear while changing the background. Atmo can render with Vulkan or OpenGL ES. The automatic setting uses Vulkan when compatible and falls back to OpenGL ES when setup or rendering fails; users can also choose either path in display settings. The active renderer and negotiated Vulkan version are shown in the app. This choice applies to previews and the live wallpaper, and the product description says it does not change the system driver. Images, sketches, palettes, and playlists stay on the device. The app does not request internet or network-state permission and has no developer-operated ads or analytics. An optional subject-isolation model in one build is downloaded only after the user requests it; processing occurs on-device and works offline after installation. System color synchronization publishes the locally extracted wallpaper palette through Android’s wallpaper API, while the phone manufacturer controls when system themes refresh.
