About audav
audav is an audiobook player for collections stored on a WebDAV server. It scans a selected folder on the server and presents the books for listening on supported devices. Listening progress is visualized as a map of played and unplayed segments within each chapter; users can tap an unplayed segment to continue from that point. This can be useful for books that are revisited nonlinearly, such as reference-heavy nonfiction. The player supports detailed bookmarks with searchable notes, and displays metadata from text or information files, audio streams, and embedded audio tags. Users can choose light or dark appearance, color schemes, and book-cover styles. The app is designed to read from the user’s existing audiobook folder rather than manage accounts or files on the server. It stores its own working information in a dedicated folder and the description says server login details are encrypted and kept on the device. Setup requires a WebDAV server, login credentials, and a path to the audiobook folder. The library must be rescanned after books are added or moved. Very long seeks in large chapters can take a long time while audio buffers, which the description identifies as a known limitation. audav is intended for listeners who keep their own audiobook collection on a WebDAV service and want to follow progress across devices without installing a dedicated media server.
