About Battleship
Battleship is an offline Android game in which the player fights a computer-controlled opponent on a 10-by-10 grid. Each side has a fleet of five ships: a carrier, battleship, cruiser, submarine, and destroyer. Ships can be placed by tapping a grid cell and switching their orientation between horizontal and vertical, or the whole fleet can be deployed in a random arrangement with one tap. The opponent uses a hunt-and-target approach with checkerboard parity to search for ships and pursue hits. Sinking an enemy ship unlocks a corresponding special weapon. The listed effects include area bombardment, cross-pattern firing, and a sonar sweep, adding different attack choices as the match progresses. Across multiple games, Battleship tracks career statistics that persist when the app is closed and reopened. It also awards 33 medals in four rarity tiers and advances the player through eight career ranks, from Cadet to Fleet Admiral. The game does not require a network connection or account and is described as having no tracking or advertising. Audio effects are synthesized while the game runs rather than loaded from bundled audio files. Battleship is suited to a self-contained single-player naval strategy game, with fleet placement, tactical attacks, and persistent progress as its main elements.
