About BendyStraw

BendyStraw is a utility for editing exported databases from a local video-streaming app. It imports one or more ZIP backups and lets users combine or reorganize their data before exporting a new archive for import back into the original app. Working with multiple archives at once is useful when consolidating data from more than one device. The app can create, delete, copy, move, and rename custom playlists. It can also manage streams within playlists, move channel subscriptions or bookmarked playlists between databases, and reorder playlist contents. Streams can be sorted by title, channel, or length, shuffled, or reversed. Users can create new playlists, rearrange entries by dragging, and search watch history to copy matching items into a new playlist. Playlists can be imported from JSON or exported as plain text, and stream links can be opened from within the app. It can also open a temporary playlist in a browser. Light and dark themes are available. Editing works on extracted database files and produces new ZIP archives; imports from several sources can be open together, and exports can include the combined changes. Android 13 and later may require broad external-storage access for opening archives from different locations, editing their contents, and writing the resulting files. The app description explains that this permission supports that file workflow. BendyStraw is primarily a database and playlist organizer, not a streaming catalog: it manages the saved subscriptions and lists that users already have.
