About Bolt
Bolt is a local-first AI workspace for working with email, calendars, files, and contacts. These data sources stay on the user’s machine, while a governed egress boundary controls what an AI model is allowed to receive. This separates locally held personal or work information from the specific material made available to a model. The workspace is designed to let AI tools work with selected information without granting unrestricted access to every connected source. The boundary governs data leaving the local environment, so the user or configuration can limit which information is exposed. Bolt is intended for people who want an AI workspace connected to everyday information while maintaining control over what is sent out. Its central design points are local storage for email, calendar, files, and contacts, combined with controlled model access.
