About CertDump
CertDump is a command-line utility that extracts the signing certificate from a portable executable file. A signing certificate identifies the signer associated with a digitally signed program and can be inspected as part of verifying or recording software provenance. The tool is intended for developers, administrators and analysts who need to examine certificate information without opening a graphical file-properties dialog. Its command-line design can also fit into scripts that inspect executable files. CertDump focuses on retrieving the signing certificate from a portable executable. It provides a small terminal-based function for examining signed software. The extracted certificate can then be inspected as part of examining a signed executable.
