About ChatLab
ChatLab is a local-first application for analyzing chat records using SQL and AI agents. It supports conversation data from LINE, WeChat, QQ, WhatsApp, Instagram, and Discord. Users can query and examine their chat histories and reconstruct information from them using an agent and a flexible SQL engine. The project is free and open source and states that chat data is analyzed on the user’s computer rather than uploaded to a cloud service. It is still in early development, so some features may be incomplete or contain bugs. Support for additional messaging platforms is described as planned rather than currently available. ChatLab’s role is local analysis of supported chat exports through structured queries and AI-assisted exploration.
