About Cheogram
Cheogram is an Android messaging client for the Jabber/XMPP network, with features for communicating across gateways to other networks. It supports text and media messages, animated media, unobtrusive subject lines, contact links, call timestamps, and address-book integration. Contacts and channels can be tagged and browsed by tag, and a command interface is included. Gateway support can integrate phone-network contacts with Android’s native phone app and add contacts through gateway-specific flows. Cheogram requires an account with an XMPP service, which users can run themselves or obtain elsewhere. The app is based on another XMPP client but adds functions for gateway users. It is suited to people who want to use XMPP while reaching contacts on other communication networks through compatible gateways.
