About ChineseTtsTflite
ChineseTtsTflite is an offline Chinese text-to-speech engine for Android. It uses TensorFlow Lite models to generate spoken output on the device without an internet connection. Two model options are described: FastSpeech, which runs quickly on a mid-range device but produces less natural-sounding speech, and Tacotron, which has higher performance requirements and runs too slowly for practical use in the app. The Tacotron model is bundled for testing rather than regular use. This distinction helps users understand the tradeoff between speed and voice quality in the available models. ChineseTtsTflite is intended to provide local speech synthesis through an Android text-to-speech engine, with the FastSpeech option serving as the practical model and Tacotron available for experimentation.
