About ClayModeller
ClayModeller is an Android sculpting app for making 3D models intended for clay printing. It provides nine tools for adding or removing material, pulling, smoothing, flattening, pinching, inflating, adjusting lighting, and viewing a model. Add and pull tools respond to finger-drag direction, offering touch-based control over the shape as it is formed. Users can rotate, pan, and zoom the model in view mode, with a visual cursor showing tool size and position during sculpting. Lighting can be adjusted for each model and is saved with the project. The app includes six example models for learning, up to 20 undo steps, and automatic saving every minute. Models can be saved and reopened in a custom file format, then exported as STL files for 3D printing, with output sizes from 50 to 200 millimeters. ClayModeller stores files locally and is described as collecting no user data. Its tools are aimed at touch sculpting rather than precise CAD drafting. The export format supports preparing a model for printing, while the built-in examples and undo history make iterative shaping easier on a mobile device.
