Contextium

Contextium extends Android’s text-selection menu with configurable actions for web searches.

About Contextium

Contextium extends Android’s text-selection menu with configurable actions for web searches. After selecting text in another app, users can choose Contextium and then select an action that opens the text in a configured website. Each menu entry can have its own name, label, target URL, and query parameter. Entries can be reordered, enabled or disabled individually, and exported or imported as a configuration backup. The target website must accept search terms as a URL parameter. Contextium builds a search URL by inserting the selected text into that parameter and opening the result. The app is intended for users who regularly search selected text in several web services and want those searches available directly from Android’s selection menu. Its function is a configurable link builder; it does not itself provide search results.
