About Controlloid
Controlloid turns an Android phone into a game controller for a PC. It provides the buttons of a PlayStation 2-style controller except for the L3 and R3 stick clicks, and lets the user configure an analog stick dead zone. On the phone, a layout editor can move, resize, and overlap controls, and multiple layouts can be created for different games. The app can scan for servers on a local network and connect to them. A separate server program must run on the PC. The described PC systems are Linux and Windows. The phone and PC can connect over a local network created through Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or USB, among other options; internet connections are also described. The app supports multiple connected clients, with a stated limit of 16 on Windows. Controlloid is useful when a physical controller is unavailable or when a player wants a custom touch layout on a phone. Its controls are sent to the PC-side server, so both the Android client and that server are needed for play. The evidence does not specify which games recognize the input or guarantee compatibility with every network setup.
