About Converse Desktop
Converse Desktop is a Windows desktop client for Jabber/XMPP messaging. XMPP is an open messaging protocol used by chat services, and a client provides the interface for sending and receiving messages through it. Converse Desktop is built with Electron and based on Converse.js, bringing that messaging client into a desktop application. It is intended for users who communicate through Jabber or XMPP and want a dedicated desktop interface. Its role is messaging rather than email or video conferencing. The product provides a desktop way to work with XMPP-based conversations, using the underlying client technology in a Windows application. Its desktop form keeps XMPP messaging available in a standalone window.
