About Couchy Launcher
Couchy Launcher is a home-screen launcher designed for Android TV and Google TV. It presents installed apps in a single screen that can be navigated entirely with a remote control’s directional pad, without touch input. Users can arrange apps in a carousel, grid, or dock, and group them into custom sections. They can also hide apps, show or hide labels and category names, adjust interface scaling, and dim the wallpaper. The status bar can display the time, date, network state, and VPN status, with a shortcut for launching a VPN app. The launcher supports 17 languages. Video wallpapers are available as an optional feature and remain disabled unless the user turns them on. Couchy is intended to make a television app collection easier to browse and organize from a couch, where D-pad control matters more than touch gestures. Its description states that it generates no network traffic by default and has no accounts, analytics, telemetry, or background services. Turning on video wallpaper is an opt-in change to the default behavior. The available evidence focuses on app launching and home-screen customization, not on replacing streaming apps or managing media libraries.
