About Destination Sol
Destination Sol is a space exploration and combat game with role-playing elements. Players begin piloting a small fighter near the edge of a star system and can explore a generated world, land on planets, fight enemies, upgrade their ship and equipment, hire mercenaries, and mine asteroids. The game combines travel through space with combat, trading encounters, and equipment progression. The world includes two star systems, planets, asteroid belts, and mazes. Players can land on three types of planets and encounter enemies, allied fighters, traders, and outposts. Six ship types are available to pilot, and equipment includes weapons, shields, armor, and special abilities. Destination Sol is open-source software and is available on desktop platforms as well as Android. Its open-world structure supports exploring different areas and taking on combat or resource-gathering activities, while ship upgrades and equipment give players ways to adapt to the challenges they encounter.
