About Docspell Share
Docspell Share adds a sharing option for sending files from Android apps to a Docspell document-management server. A user can share a document into the app, choose one of the configured upload addresses, and send the file to the corresponding server. An address can be selected for each upload or set as the default. Different upload addresses can apply additional metadata such as tags, so choosing the destination can also determine how the document is categorized. The app can scan a QR code to copy an upload address from another screen, though camera access is optional. An internet connection is needed to upload files to the remote server, which must already be running. The server then extracts and analyzes document text and adds metadata. Docspell Share is therefore a lightweight bridge from mobile scanning or file apps into a document-management workflow, with the server handling the subsequent processing.
