About DoNotNotify

DoNotNotify filters Android notifications using rules that the user can create. Rules may either block notifications that match or allow only matching notifications. Matching can use text found in the notification title or body, with simple “contains” checks or regular expressions. Rules can be scheduled for selected time windows, and more than 40 preset rules are provided for common notification categories. The app can also add relevant presets when supported apps are installed. A notification history shows received notifications, while a separate blocked history records which rules blocked which notifications. Users can tap a blocked item to inspect it or edit the rule responsible. Rules can be backed up and restored as JSON. Notification history is stored locally and excluded from Android backups; Android may back up rules and settings when system backup is enabled. DoNotNotify requires notification-listener permission to inspect incoming notifications. The description says it has no network access or data collection. The app is intended for controlling notification interruptions, but users need to configure allow and deny rules carefully so important alerts are not hidden.
