About DrawAnywhere
DrawAnywhere provides a floating drawing canvas that can sit over other apps. It is designed for annotating a lesson, tutorial, or presentation directly on the screen being viewed. Users can draw freehand, place rectangles or ellipses, or use a laser pointer. Pen color, stroke width, and opacity can be adjusted, with a color wheel, preset colors, recent colors, and hexadecimal input. The canvas can be panned and zoomed, and a three-level lock can prevent movement or lock the entire canvas. Gestures control zoom and position, while additional multi-finger gestures can toggle touch passthrough or hide the canvas. Passthrough lets touch input reach the app underneath; the canvas can also be hidden and configured to clear automatically when hidden. A toolbar can be arranged vertically or horizontally, moved around the screen, and set to dim after inactivity. Drawing can be undone or redone through a 50-step history. A pixel eraser removes areas, while a stylus-button stroke eraser is also supported. Finger drawing can be disabled for a stylus-only mode, and a brush hover preview helps show where the next stroke will land. A Quick Settings tile toggles the service, and launching the app a second time closes it. These controls make the overlay practical to start and dismiss while working in another app. DrawAnywhere is focused on temporary on-screen markup and navigation of a floating canvas, rather than editing an underlying document directly.
