About DroidStress
DroidStress is a CPU and memory stress-testing utility for Android. It generates CPU load by running calculations on a chosen number of threads and can continue in the background. Users can set a run duration or leave it empty for an indefinite test. An optional memory test repeatedly allocates a specified amount of memory, writes data, and frees it. A notification indicates that background work is running, and a Stop action halts the test. On Android 13 and later, notification permission is requested so the work can continue when the app window is closed. A black blank screen can be shown during long tests; on OLED devices this avoids keeping a bright screen displayed, and the feature temporarily prevents the screen from sleeping. DroidStress can be used to generate processor or memory load and observe a device under that load. The supplied description also mentions battery-measurement recalibration and warming a cooled phone as use cases. Stress tests can run indefinitely if no duration is entered, so the app’s duration and stop controls are important parts of its operation.
