About Duo Desktop

Duo Desktop checks the security posture of a computer before allowing access to applications protected by the associated access policies. A native client runs on supported Linux, macOS, and Windows computers and reports endpoint health during browser-based authentication. An organization can set policies that use device health or the presence of the client as a condition for access. When a device does not meet a policy’s requirements, the authentication flow can deny access and tell the user why. The application can also provide steps for correcting the device’s posture. Administrators can see additional endpoint information in the administration panel. This product therefore connects device checks with application access decisions; its operation depends on an organization configuring the relevant policies and protecting applications through the authentication system.
