About entra-emulator
entra-emulator is a local emulator of Microsoft Entra ID, formerly known as Azure Active Directory, packaged as a single Go binary. It implements the OpenID Connect and OAuth 2.0 v2 endpoints used by Microsoft Authentication Library (MSAL), along with a minimal read-only Microsoft Graph interface and an administrative REST API. The emulator lets developers test sign-in, token acquisition, and protected API calls offline, without a cloud tenant. This can support local development and automated testing of applications that depend on identity flows. The product description explicitly limits it to local development use; it is not presented as a production identity provider. entra-emulator is intended to pair with applications using MSAL and related authentication patterns. The evidence does not describe protocol coverage beyond the named endpoints or the behavior of every Graph API. Its purpose is to provide a local test substitute for selected identity and API interactions.
