Eternity

About Eternity

Eternity is an Android client for browsing and participating in Lemmy communities. Users can explore subscribed, local, and all-community feeds, discover communities connected to their current server, and subscribe, unsubscribe, block, or favorite communities. Posts and comments can be voted on, saved, shared, created, and discussed. Feeds support endless scrolling and configurable post and comment sorting, with card, compact, and gallery display options. The app supports multiple accounts and server instances, with quick switching between them. Its inbox displays replies, mentions, and private messages, and notifications can alert users to replies. Profiles show a user’s posts, comments, and saved content. Themes include light, dark, and OLED options, Material You colors, user-created themes, font settings, and optional bottom navigation. Eternity is described as being in the early stages of development, so unfinished features and bugs should be expected. The app is based on an earlier Reddit-client project, but its current purpose is to connect to Lemmy. Eternity is useful for people who want an Android interface for reading and interacting with federated community feeds. Browsing, subscriptions, posting, messaging, and notifications depend on the connected Lemmy instance and the features it makes available.
