About evnx
evnx is a local-first command-line tool for managing `.env` files. It validates syntax, scans for committed credentials and keys that a build might expose in a browser, and converts environment files into 14 deployment formats. It can synchronize files through an end-to-end encrypted service. Values are encrypted on the user's computer using a key derived from a master password, so the server stores ciphertext rather than readable secrets. Vaults can be shared, and revoking a member rotates the key and re-encrypts stored versions. evnx is intended for developers who manage environment configuration and secrets across deployment targets. Its validation, secret scanning, format conversion, and encrypted sharing support the lifecycle of `.env` data.
