About fabric-emulator
fabric-emulator is a local emulator of selected Microsoft Fabric control-plane and data-plane behavior, distributed as a single Go binary. It models workspaces, items, CI/CD definitions, workspace role-based access control, Git integration, jobs, and the 202/poll pattern for long-running operations. It also implements a subset of the OneLake ADLS Gen2 data plane. The emulator validates Microsoft Entra bearer tokens and is designed to work with entra-emulator so developers can test service-principal automation and Fabric CI/CD pipelines offline. The product description says this can be done without cloud capacity or a cloud tenant. It is explicitly a local development tool, not a production Fabric service. fabric-emulator is useful for testing automation and application behavior against local representations of Fabric APIs.
