About FairEmail

FairEmail is an Android email client for managing one or more existing mail accounts. It supports a unified inbox or separate views by account and folder, conversation threading, two-way synchronization, push-style IMAP IDLE updates, offline storage, and offline actions that synchronize later. The app supports standard mail protocols such as IMAP, POP3, and SMTP, and can work with many providers. It does not provide an email address or support non-standard protocols such as Exchange Web Services or ActiveSync. The interface is designed to keep reading and composing mail central. Users can format message text, use light, dark, or black themes, and receive notifications through a low-priority foreground service. Additional convenience features include folder and account colors, notification actions, snoozing, delayed sending, reply templates, filters, message classification, search indexing, calendar invitation handling, and settings export. Some advanced features are offered as Pro features. FairEmail includes OpenPGP and S/MIME encryption and signing support. Its message display removes unsafe HTML and scripting, and it asks before loading images, opening links, or attachments. It can reformat messages to help prevent phishing, identify possible tracking images, and warn when authentication checks fail. The description says mail is not stored on third-party servers by the app, and that it has no ads, analytics, or tracking; error reporting is opt-in. It is open-source. For Google OAuth, the supplied build note says the build described does not have approval and a different distribution version is needed. FairEmail is suited to users who want a feature-rich, privacy-focused client for standard email accounts.
