Fechtkarte

Fechtkarte generates warm-up and routine drill cards for Historical European Martial Arts practice.

About Fechtkarte

Fechtkarte generates warm-up and routine drill cards for Historical European Martial Arts practice. Each card presents a numbered sequence of cuts, with a dot marking a thrust. Background color indicates which hand leads, allowing practitioners to alternate sides. The card fixes the sequence of openings, while choices such as guard, footwork, edge, and tempo are left to the practitioner. The app includes a library of more than one hundred classic drill cards. Users can browse by leading hand and filter by action count, thrust count, or technique. Random generation can be configured for the number of actions and thrusts, with five optional shaping rules. Six color palettes are available for each hand and are designed for color-vision accessibility. Generated cards can be shared or exported as high-resolution PNG images or print-ready vector PDFs. Fechtkarte works offline and requires no account or network access. It is open source and contains no proprietary dependencies. The app is a practice aid for sequencing drills, not an instructional system for choosing technique or teaching martial arts fundamentals.
