About Fedilab
Fedilab is a multi-account Android client for the decentralized social network ecosystem known as the Fediverse. It supports several services, including Mastodon, PeerTube, Pixelfed, Misskey, GNU Social, Pleroma, and Friendica. Users can compose threaded posts, follow and interact with remote instances, translate posts, and perform cross-account actions. Feeds can be filtered, and a specialized timeline is available for the Mastoart tag. The app includes a custom emoji picker, multiple launcher icons, themes, and database import and export. Users can schedule posts from the device and export posts. URL-sharing behavior can be customized to redirect links to alternative front ends. Notification options include UnifiedPush, maintaining a live connection, or delayed polling at intervals. These approaches differ in how promptly updates arrive and in their network and battery behavior. Multiple accounts are supported, with cross-account actions available from a long press. Fedilab is useful for people who participate in multiple federated social services and want one Android client for posting, browsing, filtering, and account management. Feature availability depends on the connected service and instance. The app’s supported network list makes it a broad client, while its customization and import/export tools help adapt its behavior to the user’s setup.
