About FingerList
FingerList is an Android client for viewing status information from Finger servers. Users can add friends’ Finger addresses and see the information those servers provide in a list. A server address can also be entered to view who is online. Finger is an older network protocol that can expose information about users, their current plans or projects, and contact details, depending on how each server is configured. FingerList therefore displays information provided by other people’s servers rather than generating profiles itself. The content available can differ from one server to another. The app is intended for people who still use Finger for status messages or microblog-style updates. Its documented functions are maintaining a list of addresses and viewing returned status information.
