About Flip 2 DND
Flip 2 DND changes Android’s Do Not Disturb mode based on how the phone is positioned. Turning the phone face down enables Do Not Disturb, and turning it face up disables it. This gives users a physical gesture for silencing interruptions without navigating through settings or using an on-screen control. An optional setting limits the gesture to times when the screen is off. Vibration feedback can be configured, and the app can play a sound notification when Do Not Disturb is disabled. The behavior is based on the device’s accelerometer, so it depends on the phone being able to detect its orientation. The app requires access to Do Not Disturb settings, vibration control, and the motion sensor, as listed in its description. It uses a Material You interface and is described as open-source, with no ads or tracking. Its function is focused on toggling the system mode; it does not replace the phone’s sound controls or provide a scheduling system. Flip 2 DND can be useful in meetings, study sessions, or other moments when placing a phone face down is a natural way to quiet it. Users can choose whether the screen must be off before the gesture takes effect, reducing the chance of an accidental mode change during active use.
