About Flux News
Flux News is an Android reader for content managed by a Miniflux server. It synchronizes feeds and stores articles locally, allowing users to continue reading offline after a sync. Swipe gestures can mark articles as read or save them for later, and articles may be marked read automatically as the user scrolls over them. Search and filters help find content by read status, starred status, category, or feed. The app also includes podcast playback. New episodes can be downloaded automatically and deleted after listening, playback speed is adjustable, chapters can be used for navigation, and a sleep timer is available. Listening progress synchronizes with the Miniflux account, and a dedicated downloads view manages offline audio. The app supports background synchronization, comments, home-screen widgets, and opening articles in their associated apps. For sharing, Flux News can use the Android share sheet or send articles to configured services. A CarPlay interface provides an audio-focused way to access downloaded podcasts while driving. Light, dark, and true-black themes are available. Flux News communicates directly with the user’s Miniflux server and requires an existing server instance or hosted account; it does not act as a standalone feed service.
