About Focus Launcher

Focus Launcher replaces the Android home screen with a text-only black-and-white interface. It shows a clock, one optional section for upcoming calendar events or screen time, and up to five chosen apps as words rather than icons. Phone and camera remain in the corners. A searchable app list supports sorting by name, usage, or recency, and can separate work and personal apps. Users can rename, hide, pin, or limit apps. Daily allowances can be set for social apps, games, or any other app. When an allowance is used, opening the app requires a pause and an explicit confirmation; attempts to go beyond limits are counted. A weekly review summarizes time by app and time of day, as well as how often limits were overridden, then provides space for a short reflection. Focus Launcher works offline without an account, advertising, or analytics. Usage access is used for screen-time reports. An optional Accessibility Service detects the foreground app for blocking and cannot read screen contents; calendar permission is optional and used only to show upcoming events. The launcher is intended to reduce visual clutter and add deliberate friction to selected apps, while leaving chosen utilities available normally.
