About Folder Camera
Folder Camera is an Android camera that saves photos directly into folders chosen by the user. A base directory is selected through Android’s folder picker, then the user chooses or enters a relative path before taking pictures. The folder tree is searchable, supports nested folders and Unicode names, and can be changed between sessions without replacing existing photos. The camera captures JPEG images into the confirmed destination. Users can adjust zoom with a slider or pinch gesture and select supported flash modes such as off, automatic, or always on. Photos can be previewed, shared, and exported through Android, and remain accessible to other apps after the camera is uninstalled. An optional desktop transfer feature can send copies over the local network to a paired receiver using certificate-verified HTTPS. Sync is disabled by default, and pending transfers can resume after temporary connection problems while preserving the intended destination. The desktop receiver is separate from the Android app, and local capture works without a computer, account, or internet connection. Folder Camera does not use a broad all-files permission or developer-operated photo server. Photos are saved in folders selected by the user. Private staging data and pairing credentials do not survive uninstall, so staged items should be recovered or exported before removing the app.
