About Foldio
Foldio is a local music player that treats folders as playlists. Users choose a root music folder, and each subfolder becomes a separate playlist. This organization follows the existing file structure, so listeners can arrange albums, genres, or other collections with folders rather than rebuilding playlists inside the app. The player supports play, pause, skip, and shuffle. It can shuffle tracks across several selected playlists at once. Playback continues in the background through a foreground service, allowing music to keep playing while another app is in use or the screen is off. Foldio reads embedded ID3 artwork from audio files. Users can override the artwork for a playlist with artwork from another track, providing a way to customize how folder-based collections appear. The app is designed for music stored on the device rather than a streaming catalog. Foldio is useful for listeners whose music is already organized into folders and who want those folders reflected directly as playlists. Its multi-playlist shuffle and background playback support longer listening sessions without requiring a separate playlist-creation workflow.
