About FPS Meter
FPS Meter is an Android overlay for viewing frame-rate and performance information while using games or apps. It can measure display pacing through Android’s frame callbacks or use privileged buffer-queue monitoring through Shizuku to measure rendered game frames. The overlay can also show frame time in milliseconds, battery temperature, and a badge indicating whether the detected graphics API is Vulkan or OpenGL ES. Users can toggle the overlay from a Quick Settings tile or a draggable floating bubble. It supports automatic game detection through an accessibility service and offers preset positions as well as touch-drag placement. FPS values use color coding based on performance thresholds. FPS Meter is open-source software with no analytics, tracking, or network calls according to its description. The Shizuku-based frame provider requires that service, while other measurement behavior uses the display timing method. The app is intended for observing performance data during mobile gaming or development.
