About Freebloks

Freebloks is an Android strategy board game based on a tile-placement game. Each player has a set of polyomino pieces and takes turns placing one on a 20-by-20 board. The first piece must start in the player’s corner; later pieces must touch a corner of the player’s existing tiles but cannot share an edge with them. The game ends when no player can place another piece, and the player with the most squares on the board wins. Pieces can be selected, dragged, rotated, and flipped before placement. Valid placements are highlighted, and possible corner contacts are marked on the board. A current game is saved if the app is closed, and hint and undo options are available. Board size and player configuration can be customized, and the game offers variants with two or four colors. Players can compete against the computer, share a device, play online with friends, or connect over Bluetooth. The app also supports cross-play with a compatible desktop version. Freebloks is open source and has no advertisements. It combines spatial planning and territory management, with the placement rules rewarding moves that extend access to new corners while limiting opponents’ space.
