About Freies Radio
Freies Radio is an Android app for listening to community radio stations. It provides live streams that can continue in the background, along with a program guide showing what is on now and what is coming up. Users can also listen to archived shows and discover podcasts produced by community stations. The app selects stations based on the user’s location, helping surface broadcasters in the surrounding area. Community radio stations are described as non-commercial and independent, with programming produced by people in the region. The app brings live listening, schedules, archives, and podcasts together in one place. Freies Radio is intended for discovering and listening to community radio rather than managing a personal podcast library. Its location-based station selection and program guide help users find local broadcasts and return to past shows.
