About Frescobaldi project
Frescobaldi is a text editor for creating and editing music scores in LilyPond notation. Its editor provides syntax highlighting and automatic completion, while a music view lets users inspect the rendered score and proof-listen generated MIDI. Music can be entered with the keyboard or captured from a MIDI controller. A score wizard helps set up a new project, and a snippet manager stores reusable text, templates, or scripts. The application can work with multiple versions of its score typesetter and select the appropriate one automatically. It includes documentation and a user guide, plus layout tools for highlighting selected objects in the resulting PDF. MusicXML, MIDI, and ABC files can be imported. Frescobaldi combines notation editing, playback review, and rendered-score inspection in one environment, with configurable colors, fonts, and shortcuts.
