About GeoKrety Logger

GeoKrety Logger is a companion app for recording the movement of trackable objects in a geocaching game. Players move registered objects, called GeoKrety, from one cache location to another and log each handoff or encounter. The app provides a step-by-step form for submitting those records, including the type of log, the object’s tracking code, the relevant waypoint, date and time, and an optional comment. The workflow depends on what happened to the object. If a player met or picked it up, they enter its tracking code. For an object already in their inventory, they can select its tracking code from the inventory list. When logging that an object was dropped off or met at a cache, the user supplies a waypoint; a previously used waypoint can be selected from the app’s log list, which also fills in the date and time. The completed entry is then submitted from the form. An account with the GeoKrety service is required to use the app. GeoKrety Logger is therefore focused on maintaining the movement history of tracked objects within that game, rather than serving as a general-purpose GPS logger or cache-finding tool. Its form and inventory selection support the practical task of recording an object’s journey as it passes between locations and players.
