About GIF Live Wallpaper
GIF Live Wallpaper sets an animated GIF as the phone’s live wallpaper. Users activate the wallpaper in the app, choose a GIF file, and apply it through the live-wallpaper workflow. The app does not require root access. It stops animation when the wallpaper is not visible or when the device is locked, which the description says prevents it from continuing to consume battery in those states. The app is a focused way to use a GIF as a background rather than a general image editor. It does not allow separate GIFs for the home screen and lock screen; live-wallpaper behavior varies by device, and some phones do not display live wallpapers on the lock screen. GIF Live Wallpaper is described as small, ad-free, and not collecting or sharing user data. Its main task is choosing a local GIF and applying it as the device wallpaper.
